Elderly Couple Consulting with Doctor

As I noted in last month's newsletter, there are some BIG changes coming to all Medicare beneficiaries in 2025.

The GOOD NEWS is that if you have Medicare prescription drug coverage in your plan the True Out of Pocket [TROOP] limit will be $2,000 in 2025! Simply put…you will not have to pay any more than $2,000 in 2025 for your meds. In addition, the dreaded “Donut Hole” will be eliminated completely beginning Jan. 1, 2025.

But there's a tradeoff. Insurance carriers who offer Medicare Rx plan coverage will be absorbing additional costs, but will likely pass some of these costs onto you via higher deductibles, copays, coinsurance and premiums. If this happens…and I believe it will…you will be notified by your insurance carrier via a communication called the Annual Notice of Change - YOU MUST READ THIS COMMUNICATION.

Be ready to consider making some changes for 2025. Don't be alarmed because I am here to help you navigate this “Perfect Storm” and disruption.

  1. Read your Annual Notice of Change communication.
  2. Please read the email that I recently sent you, click the link in the email and complete the form requested ASAP. Without this complete form Medicare will NOT allow me to review any future changes to your Medicare health and Rx plan.
  3. If you want to discuss what your future options are, the best way to connect with me during this busy time is to call my office at 858-935-9120 and schedule a phone appointment. This is the only way I can help and provide the needed support for my Medicare clients. I am not able to discuss any details with you until October 1st, so please schedule after that date.
